| Breaking News |  | Friday, June 11th, 2010: 5-6 Day for Cabrera! During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Melky Cabrera went 5 for 6 against the Cincinnati Reds at Pro Player Stadium and the Marlins picked up a 16-5 victory.
He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted left fielder was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room.
"He was patient up there today," the Florida skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Cabrera has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes."
M. Cabrera singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off A. Bright in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
In the 2010 season Cabrera has hit .315 with 6 home runs, 21 RBIs and scored 48 runs. |  | Monday, June 7th, 2010: Florida Left Fielder Week's Best in NL It was a sweet day for Melky Cabrera of the Florida Marlins, who found out he has been named the National League Player of the Week.
The Marlins left fielder put up a solid .429 average and contributed 1 home run and 6 RBIs to claim the honors.
So far this season Cabrera has 5 home runs and a .297 batting average. |  | Thursday, June 3rd, 2010: Walker Stops Arizona Florida was pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard today as Matt Walker blanked Arizona 5-0. He stopped them on 2 hits with 5 walks and 8 strikeouts.
His skipper said, "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite. He was on top of his game in this one."
